Adamantine

charcoal, 26 x 36 cms

© Fergus A Ryan, 2019

I've had this old brick at home for decades, and have always been intending to draw it. The lettering was quite a challenge to do freehand from life. Although ‘Adamantine’ means hard and unbreakable mine has a crack in it because I used it to block up a gap in my open fire iron firegrate. It was made in Chester, in England.
