This bell is at the Kuerner Farm in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, made famous the paintings of Andrew Wyeth. Karl Kuerner Jr, whose father was the subject of some of Wyeth's most striking works, allowed Sarah and me to wander around the farm and outhouses as we wished. One of us—gallantry forbids me to say which one— closed the car door on Karl's cat's tail.
